In addition to standard business, the Allen Township Trustees discussed compensation from One Power Company related to a drainage catch basin. Attorney Cindy Land clarified that, as township administrator, Mark Schimmoeller can handle zoning administrative work while there is no full-time zoning inspector. The trustees also went into executive session to meet with two of the three candidates for the zoning inspector position.

September 2, 2025 Allen Township Zoning Commission Meeting

The Allen Township Zoning Commission discussed a parcel rezoning request to accommodate the owner’s home business. A public hearing on the property is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30 at 7 p.m. The commission also reviewed Mark Schimmoeller’s role as township administrator and clarified his zoning responsibilities in the absence of a full-time zoning inspector.

September 2, 2025 Allen Township Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting

The Allen Township Board of Zoning Appeals discussed if there was a need to continue scheduling monthly meetings and agreed to continue scheduling them each month along with the Zoning Commission and Trustee regular monthly meetings. If there are no agenda items, the meeting will be canceled, and the public will be notified a minimum of 24 hours in advance with a notice at the trustee office and potentially online.

August 5, 2025 Allen Township Trustee Meeting

The Allen Township Trustees, in addition to standard meeting business, reviewed the City of Findlay’s counteroffer on a proposed revenue sharing agreement, discussed the application process for the township’s full-time zoning inspector position, and received an update on zoning permits filed in July.

August 5, 2025 Allen Township Zoning Commission Meeting

The Allen Township Zoning Commission discussed an email from a business owner asking whether he should apply for a variance or request that his property be rezoned. Interim zoning inspector Mark Schimmoeller reported that in July the township processed four zoning permit applications, with more being received but still being processed. He also noted that he investigated two construction sites after receiving calls from members of the public.
